(Pinus Strobus)

A soft, symmetrical pyramid in youth; graceful plume-like outline of horizontal ascending branches in middle-age.  Fast growing.  Very distinctive when compared to other conifers.

 

Blue Spruce

(Picea Pungens)

Young growth soft, silvery blue-gray.  A broad pyramid with horizontal stiff branches.  A slow to medium grower; more drought tolerant than other Spruces.

 

Norway Spruce

(Picea abies)

Pyramidal with pendulous branchlets.  Stiff when young, graceful in maturity.

 

Douglas Fir

(Abies)

Slow growing, conical to 

pyramidal in outline.
